What Is a Machine Serial Number?
A machine serial number is a unique identification number assigned to an individual piece of machinery.
It identifies the complete machine rather than one individual component. The serial number usually appears on a metal identification plate permanently attached to the machine frame or main structure.
Depending on the manufacturer, the plate may also display the machine model, production information, weight or other technical details.

How to Identify the Correct Plate
