Start with your working environment. The FD25 suits general warehouse and paved-yard material handling, the E35D is an electric option for suitable hard-surface applications, and the FR35 and CPCD35 are designed for rougher outdoor conditions. You should also compare rated load, lift height, drive type, operating weight and standard equipment.

Choose based on your heaviest regular load, load centre, required lift height, attachment weight and operating conditions. A higher rated-load figure does not automatically mean the machine is suitable for every load configuration, so the full load chart and machine specification should be checked.

Standard forklifts are generally best suited to firm, level warehouse floors and paved yards. Rough-terrain forklifts are designed with features such as higher ground clearance, larger tyres and stronger traction for suitable outdoor surfaces, farms, yards and construction environments.

The E35D may suit businesses looking for lower operating noise and no engine exhaust at the machine. Before choosing an electric forklift, consider charging access, expected daily operating hours, floor conditions, battery management and the required rated load.

A triplex mast uses three mast stages to reach the stated lift height. You should also confirm the closed mast height, free-lift configuration and whether the forklift can safely operate within your doorway, container, shed or racking dimensions.

Side shift allows the fork carriage to move laterally, helping the operator align the forks with a pallet without repositioning the whole forklift. A fork positioner allows the fork spacing to be adjusted hydraulically on compatible machines. Confirm which features are included with the selected model.

It may be physically possible in some facilities, but rough-terrain forklifts are generally larger and may have a wider turning radius, different tyres and different emissions or clearance requirements. Check floor loading, ventilation, doorway width, mast height and turning space before indoor use.
